CHANCE ASSOCIATION FUNDRAISER

During the 11th Pharmacy Day, the SOP at LIU has carried a fundraising campaign for CHANCE (CHildren AgaiNst CancEr) Association.

On 09/09/2016, a small delegation of the students who were included in the organization committee of the pharmacy day and myself visited the association in St. Georges Hospital (Roum Hospital) in Ashrafieh and met with the president of the association Dr. Rola Farah and Chance Assistant Mrs. Eliane Abi Kheir to donate the sum of 5,500,000 L.L raised by our students and faculty.

CHANCE is a Lebanese Association that helps kids with Cancers and blood disorders.  This association states in its mission that because NO child should be denied the right to be cured for lack of financial means, CHANCE was founded in 2002 by doctors, parents & volunteers so that EVERY child in Lebanon can receive the best CHANCE to be saved. CHANCE (Factual Certificate 52/AD, 2005) is based entirely on volunteer work and donations. Their moto is: "Let's all join hands and efforts to 'Give them a CHANCE..' "

During the meeting, Dr. Farah thanked us for our contribution and expressed her gratitude for our thoughtfulness. She also gave us the privilege of meeting one of the little children who has been diagnosed with Child Cancer and is being treated by the help of CHANCE Association.

At the end, Dr. Safwan and the students conveyed the willingness of the school to assist in any medical and/or humanitarian projects carried out by the association.

We at the SOP are glad to share with you those news.
